The University of East Anglia are seeking to recruit high calibre candidates to International Development PhD studentships.
They are keen to recruit to the areas
detailed below, including Ageing and Development, although high quality candidates in other areas that
complement our research strengths will also be considered.

University Fully Funded PhD Studentships for October 2011.
Social Sciences Faculty Research PhD Studentships are offered to prospective candidates from the academic year 2011.
The Studentships will be available under the Scheme to applicants who, in their research proposal, can clearly demonstrate academic excellence in areas relevant to the strategic interests of the School.

Each full-time, three year studentship will cover the cost of the PhD fees at the Home/EU rate, a tax free bursary of £13,590* and a research training support grant. International students are welcome to apply but must be able to pay the difference between UK/EU fees and international fees.
Applicants are invited from suitably qualified graduates. You should have, or expect to have, a minimum of at least a 2.1 degree and preferably a Masters degree or equivalent. EU and International applicants may be required to provide evidence of competence in the English Language.
To be considered for this award, you should make an application for admission to a MPhil/PhD in the normal manner, but you should indicate the intention to be considered for an open studentship under the Postgraduate Studentships Scheme.
