'Local Editors' Required
Would you like to get involved at the start of an exciting new Gransnet project?
Granset are developing a network of local sites that will point gransnetters in the direction of anything and everything of interest in their local area. It’s partly a response to your pleas for new ways to meet each other for advice, support and fun - not just in the forums but in the real world too. It promises to be a wonderful extension of the main Gransnet site and will offer a fantastic service to local communities.
But we can’t do it without you! We are looking for local editors to help run the new sites. You could run this on your own or perhaps do it along with a friend or a group of friends. We need enthusiastic, sociable gransnetters with a finger firmly on the pulse of their communities, who don’t need much excuse to be a bit nosier about what’s going on locally - everything from the best place to go dancing to opportunities to swap skills or sell something nearly new.
We don’t expect you to do this on your own. We’ll train you and offer ongoing support and we’ll even pay you a bit to get started! After that how much you earn will depend on you: the better the site, the higher your income. You’ll keep any income from local businesses who advertise on the site. And don’t let the tech side put you off: the local sites are being designed to be very straightforward and user-friendly. Basically applicants just need to be sociable, willing to learn and passionate about their local community.
If you’re interested, send a letter explaining what interests you about this and what you could bring to it, plus a CV if applicable, to firstname.lastname@example.org with Local Editor in the subject box.
